I have been the art teacher at Fishkill Elementary for 11 years now. I
started my education locally at Orange County Community College. I
transferred to SUNY New Paltz and then completed my undergraduate degree at
Buffalo State College in 1974. In January of 1978, I received a Master of
Science in Art Education. Along the way, I did substitute teaching in art
and music. I minored in music in college. I have a great love for art and
music.
I have two daughters, who are now in their mid-20's. Because I chose to
be an at-home mom, I started my "full-time" teaching profession later in
life when I came to Fishkill Elementary. Prior to that, besides raising my
daughters, I did substitute-teaching in various schools in the Hudson Valley
along with PTA work, room mother, Brownie leader, etc.
I love art and working with young children and hope to encourage their
creativity and a love for all different types of art. The Wappingers School
District has a wonderful art curriculum for our students.
