What can I do to raise my grade?

The easiest way to earn a fantastic grade is to do all homework
and classwork assignments and to follow directions on projects.
After that, reading AR beyond the 10 required points earns extra
credit! Staying for 9th period can also earn you extra help on
assignments (which often results in better grades). Check to be
sure all your assignments have been completed. If not, do them
for late credit (it's better than no credit).

What is Mrs. Greenough's grading policy?

•	Every assignment is given a point value. The teacher
will determine each assignment’s point value, but the following
are general guidelines.
o Homework assignments are usually worth 10 points.
o Classwork assignments are usually worth 10 points.
o Essays are usually worth 50 points.
o Tests are usually worth 60-100 points.
o Projects are usually worth 50-100 points.
o 10 AR points are required each quarter. Books read in
class DO NOT COUNT toward this goal. The AR point total for the
quarter will be converted to a 50 point grade and will be
averaged into the grade at the end of the quarter.
o Students may read additional AR books for up to 10 extra
credit points per quarter!

• Work not turned in will be completed during 9th period on
the day it is due. If the student does not complete it at that
time, the assignment will only be worth 50%. After one week has
passed, if no attempt has been made to complete the work, a zero
will be recorded in the grade book. Half credit can be earned on
any assignment until the end of that quarter.

• Mrs. Greenough asks students to complete work in pen and
cursive (except art projects and crossword puzzles). Students
will be asked to redo work if they do not follow directions.

• At least 10 grades will be taken per quarter.
