About The Teacher

Mrs. Greenough was born in Minnesota and has lived in Arkansas, 
North Carolina, and New York.  After earning a full academic scholarship, 
she attended Appalachian State University in Boone, NC (Home of the Division 
I AA football CHAMPIONS!  Go Mountaineers!) where she earned her Bachelor's 
Degree in Secondary English Education and graduated with honors.  She earned 
her Master's Degree in English Education from SUNY Fredonia, with a 4.0 
GPA.  She enjoys reading, writing poetry, baking, exploring the natural 
world. She lives with her husband and her children, Molly, Eli, and Evan in 
Cherry Creek.  

Mrs. Greenough has traveled extensively, visiting most of the 48 
continental states, plus Alaska.  She has been to the Dominican 
Republic, the Netherlands, England, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and 
Canada.

Mrs. Greenough is currently working to earn National Board Certification.  
She has submitted a portfolio and videos of her teaching and has taken 
rigorous tests during the first part of this three-year process of reflecting 
and writing to demonstrate mastery of content and instructional practices.

Class Mission

I will support students as they become compassionate, thoughtful, active 
citizens of our increasingly global community.  Using reading, writing, 
character analysis, language and literary study, students will grow as 
learners and members of their home, school, and community.
