Due May 30 Reread and note chap 8-10 of LOF...quiz! Illustration of these chapters is also 
due.

Due May 17 reread and note chap 6-7 of LOF. There is a quiz. Illustrations for chapters are 
also due.

Due May 15 read and note 6-7 of LOF and do an illustration for each chapter as you have 
for 1-5.

 Due May 11Reread and note 3-5 of LOF. Quiz for immunity...illustrate each chapter as 
before with text as your caption. Finish your character blog.

Due May 7 Reread and Note chap 1-2 of LOF. Quiz for immunity next 
class! Illustrate chap 1 and 2, include a significant passage from each 
chapter to caption your illustration. Please include the title and author, 
page number etc with your illustration. 

Due May 3 Survivor Challenge---Design the winning team emblem (flag) 
and read and note 
chap 1-2 of LOF.  All homework etc is figured into your survivor contender 
status.


May 1 Submit your poster info to turnitin.com and print the receipt.

Due April 25 Revise your poem...bring in both copies. Highlight all 
changes in the final

Due April 23 Pre - seminar assignment, while
you still have your books: write a poem in response
to this unit. It must be at least 3 stanzas with a total of
75 lines. (You may use the text if necessary but put
passages you borrow from the text in quotations and
include the page number. This isn't a found poem so
you should also have some of your own words and
thoughts as well. )

Due April 19 Reader's notes for the entire book, yep you must finish 
this book.  Study your Vocabulary words!

read and note in your reader's notebook, the introductory material in the 
text for Taming…pg xiii to xvi AND "A Modern Perspective" pg 229-238. This is 
important for your test on the 31st!

Due Jan 11 Shabanu test revisions/corrections...multiple choice and 
writing portions.

Due Jan 9 Revisions and corrections on the Shabanu test for points 
back. 

 Work on writing your research paper. Paraphrase and quote your sources being 
sure to cite each instance in the paper. The works cited page will need to 
match the sources used in the paper.  The final paper is due January 11 and 
must be submitted to turnitin.com. You must print the submission receipt for 
your cover page.

Due Jan 5 Go to the internet and find 3-5 good sources for your topic. 
Print. Create a bibliography page for these sources. Print and bring all 
materials to class. Write a thesis statement for your paper based on your 
research…yep, you have to read your source material and take notes.


 Due Jan 3 You Don't Know Me with reader's notes...Read and note the 
handout from class 
regarding your research unit. We will be brainstorming topics, narrowing etc 
in class Jan 3/5.

Due Oct 31 What is due and when? 

		I am going to check your notes, a written report (1 page), a 
works cited, and a bibliography. You must demonstrate your ability to 
paraphrase, quote and cite information. You must also avoid plagiarism at all 
costs! This is due with your reader's notebook on 10-31-11.


Due Oct 6 Essay revisions…Bring both drafts to hand in next class. 
Make sure they are labeled: Draft #1 and Final copy…Changing the date in your 
heading is always a good idea as well to keep each draft in order.  We will 
start our new unit next class.

Keep in mind I am also looking at your ability to embed quotations in your 
writing. Books are due with this essay as well.

Due Oct 4 Finish writing and type your essay, set up a writing 
conference and bring in all drafts and notes for your essay next class. 
Please double space your essay.

Due Sept 14 For your first Reader's Notebook entry on Anthem, Chap 1, 
I want you to think about and consider the setting. In particular consider 
the society in which Anthem is set: political structure, degree of 
technology, social relationships, quality of life, education…

Would you want to live in this society? Why or why not?

I will be checking your notebook and you will be having a reading quiz.

reader's notbook.
