About The Teacher

I graduated from Framingham State College (MA) with a BA in English.  Next I
earned my MS Ed. from Nazareth College of Rochester.  Most recently I
completed a CAS in Educational Administration from SUNY Brockport.  My
certifications include English 7-12; Reading K-12; SDA (administration).
Since 1984, English 9 has been my main teaching responsibility. In 2004 I
initiated the Honeoye Central Gemini English program in conjunction with FLCC
so that our seniors could earn SUNY college credit by taking English 101 and
102 while still in high school. In 2006 I agreed to "take on" AP English 11,
and now, after 24 years of teaching English 9, will "move up" to English 11,
and shift my focus exclusively to juniors. I am excited about this change. I
plan to concentrate on American literature in English 11, and will coordinate
when possible and appropriate with Miss Kraft and Mr. Pavio to help our
students make the connections between American literature and U.S. History.

Each student, no matter the grade or course, will become a critical thinker
and reader, and a thoughtful, effective writer.
