SNAPSHOT OF THE WEEK:
E.L.A- We continue to practice for the E.L.A. Test. Students have been
working with various graphic organizers. Working on comprehension and
inferencing skills. Students have also become familar with each part of the
test.
The class is really enjoying informational text. We have tied it into our
Rainforest animal project and continue to practice strategies within guided
reading groups.
Math- Unit 6: Lines, Line Segments, Rays, Parellel lines and Intersecting
lines.
PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRACTICE YOUR MULTIPLICATION FACTS.
S.S.- Students continue to learn about Brazil's geography, traditions,
economy, natural resources and culture. Student are completing and presenting
their powerpoint projects to the class this week.
Students have been learning more about Brazil's, geography, people, culture
and food through interactive websites in the computer lab.
Science- Students have planted their Wisconsin Fast Plants and are continuing
observations. Students are memorizing parts of a plant.
This week students will begin pollinating their plants with a bee!! Oh, this
is so much fun!!!! Thursday, plants will go home.
Cursive-Students are learning capital letters. After this packet students
will have learned all their letters and will begin writing in cursive more
often.

You will notice that your child will be bringing home a little more homework.
for the next few months. This homework may consist of cursive practice,
additional math worksheets and/or reading packets.
As a reminder- When your child struggles a lot with their homework, please
send me a letter or e-mail letting me know.
