| Every Friday afternoon students will receive a homework packet. The packet
will constist of spelling and math. Occassionaly, I may include social
studies or science. Homework packets will be due the following Friday morning.
It is important for children to learn how to organize their time at an early
age. Distributing homework on Monday will allow students to learn how to
manage their time in order to meet a deadline. In addition, this also
provides students a full week to seek help if they do not
understand part of their assignment.
A typical homework packet:
Spelling list
spelling activities (1-2)
2-3 math worksheets (tailored to unit of study)
15 minutes of reading each night. (I will be checking their reading log
every morning and chatting
about the book their reading!)

PLEASE NOTE THAT I WILL NO LONGER BE REQUIRING STUDENTS TO SIGN THEIR PLANNERS. If I notice
that students are failing to hand in their homework packet, I will resort back to planners.
