INFORMED and CONNECTED

As we immerse ourselves in our second year as a PTO Executive Board, we'd like to challenge all of us in the high school community to stay INFORMED and CONNECTED. While our teens are pushing away from us as they emerge into young adults, it is important that we stay informed about issues that affect them in this time of rapid brain development and transition to adulthood.  We want to support our high schoolers as they pursue independence and more sophisticated thinking, but we also want to be a source of stability for them as they test uncharted waters. While our teens may be pushing away, it is more important than ever for us, as parents, to stay connected to one another in order to share resources and information, as well as offer mutual support as we all navigate the exhilarating and challenging ride of parenting teens. As your PTO Board, we hope to be facilitators in this process of being INFORMED and CONNECTED by sharing relevant information with you in our John Jay Parent Post/email communications, student and parent programs, and encouraging open, constructive dialogue in our PTO meetings and among the various members of the high school community.  We also rely on you to share your insights, ideas, and energy to help make good things happen for us all in the John Jay community.

Student Directories

We have printed copies of the 2016-2017 JJHS Student Directory for sale. Prices are $25 each, two for $30 and three for $35.  This is our primary fundraiser, so we appreciate your support!   You may purchase a Directory by sending a check payable to "JJHS PTO" to:

Please include your email and your child's name with your check. Once payment is received, we will send your directory home with your child.

We are not currently planning to make the Student Directory available on-line this year, as we are in the early stages of exploring options to have a more integrated KLSD PTO communications platform.  If you have suggestions or comments regarding on-line directory access, OR to update your child's information in the Directory, please email Janet Heneghan at mailto:heneghan@optonline.net.
