I am Ms. Colley and I teach four sections of English 10 Regents and one
section of ELA Skills 10. This is my third year teaching at John Jay High
School. I attended Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York and I am
currently studying Adolescent Literacy at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New
York. I have been a life long member of the Wappingers Central School
District and I am a former Ketcham Grad. I am also the freshmen class
advisor, in charge of sweatshirt sales and the now infamous Dorney Park
Trip.
I would like to remind everyone that they are welcome to contact
me at any time. I love talking to parents and I am looking forward to
answering any questions you might have and/or listening to any feedback you
have that may help me better work with your son or daughter.
If you are having trouble contacting me at school you are welcome to email
me at am_colley@hotmail.com or call me at (845)897-6700 EXT

The theme of English 10R is social injustice. During this year, we will read
various works that discuss issues of racism, sexism, and other forms of
discrimination. We will discuss what leads to prejudice in society. We will
commit ourselves to learning to treat people as individuals and to look at
our own prejudices and how we can eliminate them. We will seek to become
better thinkers with open and respectful minds.
