John Jay Interact Club

Interact is Rotary International's service club for young people
ages 14 to 18. Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary
clubs, which provide support and guidance, but they are self-
governing and self-supporting.

Each year, Interact clubs complete at least two community service
projects, one of which furthers international understanding and
goodwill.

John Jay Interact is a Rotary-sponsored club for students who
participate in local and international community service projects.
Interact's motto is "Service Above Self" and they exemplify this by
doing events such as John Jay recycling and beautification, highway
cleanup, Adopt-A-Family, the Senior Citizen Prom, and the Awake-A-
Thon just to name a few. Interact is continuously seeking new
events to take part in so that they can better the community around
them.

Through these efforts, Interactors develop a network of
friendships with local and overseas clubs and learn the importance
of:

1. Developing leadership skills and personal integrity
2. Demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others
3. Understanding the value of individual responsibility and hard work
4. Advancing international understanding and goodwill
