Announcements

The seventh grade has just completed the egg experiment in class. It is
due on 10/01/09. Today in class they will be getting a plant and animal cell
project. They have been working out of their new textbooks, since the start
of school on the basic concepts of cells and will be using this knowledge to
help them with their project.
The eighth grade is still working on the metric system which involves
length, mass, volume, and metric conversions. Once we have completed this
unit, the students will be receiving their first of four new textbooks which
we will use for the motion and forces unit.
In both seventh and eighth grade the new books allow for mini units to be
taught and then a new book to be used. It keeps the books from wearing out
so quickly, and encourages students to actually take them home to use them.
They are about 1/4 the weight of the old books, which also makes the backpack
lighter. We hope that the students enjoy and respect their new textbooks!
We will also be welcoming a student teacher from SUNY GENESEO at the end
of October. Whitney Dennis is a biology major and will be student teaching
both grades until about December break.
