Check your child's Daily Assignment Notebook (DAN book) for all the
work we cover in class each day. Each student writes this information
down at the end of the day and I sign each book. Completed
assignments are marked with a check and unfinished work is circled.
Your child should know if an assignment needs to be completed at
home. Though I don't usually assign additional homework each night,
on occasion I do give the students a homework assignment to complete
at home. An ongoing assignment for the school year is for students to
study unit spelling words during the week to prepare for the Friday
spelling tests. Students should also review addition and subtraction
facts at home each night in an effort to improve their speed and
accuracy in recalling the answers.
