I am a Liberty native. I grew up in White Sulphur Springs and graduated
from Liberty High School. I received my bachelors degree from SUNY Oneonta
with certification in PreK - 9th grade Math. My Masters degree is from SUNY
New Paltz. I have taught in Liberty since 1984 and have experience in 1st,
6th, 7th and 8th grades. In addition to teaching Math, I also have
experience in Social Studies as well as Language Arts, serving as Middle
School SS Facilitator, and K-12 Director of Language Arts. I have extensive
assessment training and have authored a book, "Why Am I Doing This?" with
Dr. Giselle Martin Kneip.
I live in White Sulphur with my husband, Ed and our poodle, Barnabas. We
enjoy biking, kayaking, hiking, and visiting our kids. We have two grown
girls , one is a Stage Manager in NYC and the other is a student at SUNY
Oneonta.
My goal for this class is for you to understand how Math works and not just
memorize the rules to follow. I hope you will enjoy our time together, that
you will work hard and learn to be more responsible. There is also much to
learn beyond Math. I want you to see that nothing is too hard for you if
you really try - be perseverant. I want you to see that we all struggle
some times- be kind. I want you to see that things go much easier in all
areas when you watch your attitude- be respectful. I want you to know that
you are a treasure - understand how important you are and do your very best.
