4/12 - 4/16Today we will be discussing the roots of the Cold War focusing on the events that led to the beginning of the Cold War.The students will be introduced to early events of the Cold War specifically the Korean War and the impact the McCarthy Hearings had on American society.today we will be focusing on the presidency's of Truman and Eisenhower and how they led the nation to prosperous times following WorldWar II and the Cold War Era. 4/19 - 4/23Today we will be reading the "Butter Battle by Dr. Seuss to make connections with the Cold War. Students will create an organizational web describingthe impact had on the United States politically, socially and economically.  Chapter 25 Test
4/26 - 4/30Introduction to chapter 26, "Civil Rights" specifically how t he Civil rights Movement began in this country and key events that took place. Discussion on civil rights during the 1950's and what it would have been like to be living in a segregated society.Today we will be analyzing Suprem Court Cases dealing with issues of Civil Rights. Connections will be made with the impending Arizona Immigration Bill and issues that took place during the Civil Rights Movement.
