Mrs. Tooker - Music |
ConcertsPerformance is central to the Performing Arts and students at Matthew Paterson have many opportunities to present their finest work in music before an audience of their families, teachers, peers and community. Here are some of the events our growing musicians participate in:
Thanksgiving Senior Citizens' Luncheon Holiday Performance for The Board of Education Third Grade Recorder Demonstration Passport Day Fourth Grade Music Reception
Some Helpful Information:
Concert Attire: Concert attire for students varies depending on the event. Below are some guidelines.
Holiday Performance for the BOE: Your favorite holiday colors, your choice! Be festive! Third Grade Recorder Demonstration: Neat and casual attire. Passport Day: Your child wears his or her own costume as part of his class Passport Day project. Fourth Grade Music Reception: Girls - White shirt, black skirt or pants. Boys - White shirt, dark pants, straight tie optional, but encouraged. Please avoid sneakers and jeans.
Concert Etiquette: It helps to know what to do, and what is expected of us in various settings. Sometimes, we're not sure. Here are some basic "Dos" and "Don'ts" that may help answer any questions about appropriate audience behavior.
Do arrive on time. Do silence cell phones, beepers etc. Do stay for the entire performance.
Don't talk during the performance. Don't distract performers by shouting out names or other remarks. Don't leave your seat in the middle of a performance, but wait until there is a pause, in order to get up.
Above all, do enjoy the show and please generously applaud our students' hard work! We are so proud of them!
