WECOME BACK MPES ARTISTS
I am very excited about this year's Art Program.
The first time I see you I have a lesson called...
1.Everything you needed to know about the art studio but were afraid to ask.
All that stuff like where do I keep the markers and fire drills.
2.The Second week is Pinwheels for Peace: An annual elementary school
project about Peace. The Pinwheels will be displayed on Monday September 22
on the MPES grounds.
3.South Street Gallery Elementary Art Show. Annually the CCSD displays
elementary art work between October and December.
4.“Beyond Pinwheels for Peace” is the project MPES will display. Each grade
will create a new art project out of their pinwheels. For example: Pinwheel
Tessellations , 3D geometric form made out of pinwheels, and /or pinwheel
quilts.
I am still working on the prototypes to see if it can be done.
5.The Friends of the Great Swamp Art Show. Every year we participate in the
Frogs Art Show in mid-October. This year the Recycling Mural will be
displayed for all to see. And if time we will do some nature oriented art
for individual display.
6.Then it is time to get ready for the Chris Rowland's residencies.
7.“What the Point of Pointillism” will be the theme for artwork.
8.Then the fourth graders will write songs on Animal Adaptations and the
first and second graders will paint a mural on nocturnal animals.
That should bring us up to Thanksgiving and the end of the first trimester.
You see: it is going to be a great art year.
