Hi! I hope you are enjoying your summer.  I want to take this time to introduce myself and welcome you to second grade.  My name is Gina Sevigny and I will be your teacher this year.  I have two sons.  Paul is 14 and is going into 9th grade.  Patrick will be 9 in November and will be starting 4th grade. I love second grade!  I have been busy this summer getting ready for an exciting year with you.  I have been spending time at home reading books.  Some books that I have read are for teaching parts of second grade and others are new stories that I will share with you.  We will have a brand new math program and a new science unit to explore together. I’m sure you have many questions about second grade.  I will try to answer them when we meet in September.  We will be doing all sorts of activities with math, science, social studies, art, reading and writing. My goal is to help you grow in many ways and to believe that you can do anything you set your mind to! We will have a wonderful team of teachers to learn from and grow with. Enjoy the rest of the summer and I’ll see you on 9/8/09, in room D13.
