How often do you give homework?

Students should expect to receive homework throughout the week 
and also on select weekends. Students should review course
materials daily in anticipation of the upcoming unit test. Two
papers (essays) and one major project will be assigned each
marking period, as well as, weekly Review Book assignments.

How can parent(s)/guardian(s) contact you?

You can always leave a message for me with the school secretary.  
Simply call 816-4480, and I will return your call as soon as
possible. If you prefer to send an e-mail, please use:
mrsnigro@hotmail.com. Additionally, you can always send a note
to school with your child.

What happens if a student does not hand in an assignment on time?

I will accept late assignments within the week of the original 
due date, however, students should be aware that their grade will
be lowered accordingly. I will waive the pentalty if you have a
medical excuse (doctor's note).

How do you figure students' grades?

All students will receive a grade based on the following criteria:
25% - Attendance/Participation/Homework/Quizzes
25% - Tests
25% - Papers
25% - Project
100% - TOTAL

Remember, I merely record the students' grades. I do not give
good or bad grades. Students earn all grades received.

Can my child complete extra credit?

Yes. Extra credit work is available by request and is at the 
teacher's discretion. Extra credit work will only be given once
all outstanding assignments have been completed.

My child is not doing as well as they should be, can you tutor him/her?

Yes. Tutoring is available by appointment. Your child 
may require a special pass. Please contact me to make
arrangements.
