Should I write a note if my son/daughter does not feel well in the morning?

Notes from parents are always welcome especially if you feel your child will
forget to tell me about an injury or illness. If your child comes to PE and
does not feel well I will adjust their activity and/or intensity to allow him
or her to participate at a safely. I will do this with or without a parent note.

Can my doctor or the emergency room excuse my child from class?

In New York State doctors are required to adapt a student's physical education
program to prevent further injury. Often times they find it easier to excuse a
student from participation. I encourage you to ask your doctor for a note that
clearly describes your son or daughter's limitations so that they can remain
an active part of class.

Do we go out when it is cold?

PE classes continue going outside as long as the weather allows. Students
should plan to keep warm with light layers. Students in grades 6-8 need shorts
and a tee shirt at all times. Warm ups can be worn over either or both for
comfort. A hat and light gloves are also recommended.
