Citing Sources/ Giving Credit

Giving Credit/Citing Sources

When you use information from a book, magazine, website, interview, or any other source you must give credit to the author for providing you with that information.  

At Menands School we use the Modern Language Association (MLA) format for citing sources in a WORKS CITED list (bibliography).  A Works Cited/ bibliography is a list of sources a person used when they are gathering information on a topic.

Students should also be aware that it is equally important to give credit for photo images obtained from the internet or other sources that they did not take or create themselves.
