MUSIC CELEBRATION

Congratulations on an excellent celebration! You sang a "Hello" song to represent each of your classroom studies, a song about music, and a very difficult "Goodbye" song. I am so proud of you for looking so professional and sounding so great!

HELLO THERE!

DAVID SINGS FIRST! Do not sing with him, but ECHO him.

Hello there. How are you?

It's so good... to see you.

We'll sing and... be happy...

That we're all here together again!

THAT'S WHAT'S NEW WITH ME

1.

Have you met my new teacher, new teacher, new teacher?
How I love my new teacher.

That's what's new with me, 1-2-3.

2.

Have you seen my new sneakers?

3.

Have you heard my new story?

4.

Have you heard my new song?

5.

Have you seen my new picture?

6.

Have you met my new buddy?

DO RE MI
Click on the title to watch this scene from the movie. We are singing a shorter version of this long song on our Music Celebration.

DO, a deer, a female deer. RE, a drop of golden sun.

MI, a name I call myself. FA, a long, long way to run.

SO, a needle pulling thread. LA, a note to follow "so".

TI, a drink with jam and bread. That will bring us back to Do, oh, oh, oh...

Repeat, but HOLD "DO".

When you know the notes to sing, you can sing most anything.

Repeat from beginning, but "bring down your ti" on the long word, "bring".

DO NOT SING "DO"! Take a breath, then we will quickly sing:

Do re mi fa so la ti do!

(Freeze then DROP your hand with the piano note.)

MI CHACRA (My Farm)

Come now and see my farm, for it is beautiful!

Come now and see my farm, for it is beautiful!

El perrito sounds like this: guau, guau.

Refrain:

Bienvenidos, bienvenidos. Venid, venid, venid.

Bienvenidos, bienvenidos. Venid, venid, venid.

Repeat from beginning in English, then:

Refrain

Change to Spanish for the beginning section from here on.

Vengan a ver mi chacra, que'es hermosa!

Refrain

4.

5.

EL BURRITO ace asi: III-AAH

OAK TREE

I saw a little acorn lying on the ground.

I put it in my pocket, told Daddy what I'd found.

He helped me plant it in the earth. Up came a little tree.

Just see what we have learned, my daddy and me...

AN OAK TREE!

SO LONG, FAREWELL
Click on the title to watch this scene from the movie. We are singing a shorter version of this long song on our Music Celebration.

There's a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple, too.
And up in the nursery an absurd little bird
Is popping out to say, "cuckoo". (Listen two times.)

Regretfully they tell us, but firmly they compel us
To say goodbye . . . to you.

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night.
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight. Turn.

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu.
Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu. Turn.

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye.
I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye. Turn

I'm glad to go, I cannot tell a lie.
I flit, I float, I fleetly flee, I fly. Sleepy turn.

The sun has gone to bed and so must I.
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye.

Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye...
(Wave) Goodbye!

OVERVIEW
I am very excited about the things we are doing in music class. We sing every week, of course. Some songs are short and simple, and we sometimes play fun games to go with them. Some songs are longer with more words. These take some time to learn, but little by little we can sing every word!

My room also has many instruments. We sometimes play them as we sing, and we use them to help tell the stories "Chicken Little" and "How the Camel Got His Hump".

WEBSITE
My website has many pages, so it could be confusing. This Kindergarten page is the most important. Some other helpful pages are:
ANNOUNCEMENTS
CALENDAR
GAMES, ACTIVITIES & DOWNLOADS (Play Caillou's Magic Piano. It's fun!)
CONCERTS & EVENTS FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES

You can get to know a lot about me through my PHOTO ALBUMS. They are a fun way to show you parts of my life from the time I was a child in school up to now. Grown-ups might be interested in reading ABOUT DAVID: MUSIC EDUCATOR and ABOUT DAVID: PERFORMER.
