Dean Miller is currently the band director for grades 3 – 5 and the Director
for Community Education in the North Shore Schools in Sea Cliff, NY. He
earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from SUNY – Fredonia
School of Music and his Master of Music Education/Performance degree from the
Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford. Over the last 26 years he has
taught high school, middle school and elementary school bands. He also
teaches private French horn lessons, plays principal horn with the Northwinds
Symphonic Band, Island Chamber Symphony and can be heard playing in various
other ensembles, theater groups, and a woodwind quintet called Four Winds and
a Horn. Mr. Miller resides in Massapequa and enjoys spending his free time
with his daughters Courtney (17) and Sarah (14), encouraging them in their
musical education as well as many outdoor activities.
