Hi. My name is Dr. Joel Behar and I am the school social worker at the Sea
Cliff and Glenwood Landing Elementary Schools. I have been working with young
people for many years, in a variety of settings and roles: I've been an
Executive Director of a YMCA, a College Professor, a psychotherapist
specializing in children and families, as well as a school social worker. I
truly enjoy working with children of all ages and helping them in a variety
of ways, to be the best students that they can be.
The overall focus of my work is to help students to be able to do their best
in school, by helping them to create positive change in their lives. I help
students, parents, teachers and staff deal with many different types of
problems, for example: depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, substance
abuse, family issues, etc.
