What should I do when I am absent?

I should check this website under calendar and homework to see what was
scheduled for the day I missed. I should go speak to Mrs. Williams personally
on the day I return to school, whether I have English that day or not. She is
the best person to ask what was done in my absence. She will have any
handouts or assignments ready and waiting for me.

I really want to do well in this class. What should I do?

Begin by checking the front board every day. It will outline what you have
due, what activities will take place during the block, and what your
assignment will be that night. Be sure to record the assignment in your
agenda.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Mrs. Williams is affectionately known as the homework hag.
She won't accept homework late, particularly if you have had 48 hours to
complete it. She will let you rewrite any major writing piece so take
advantage of the revision process. Writing assignments carry a great deal of
weight in the grading.
