When is extra help available?

Students frequently have time at the end of each class to begin
that night's homework and to ask questions. After school help is
also available.

How do I know how my child is doing?

Every five weeks we send home a progress report of some type -
whether it is a five-week report or a quarter report card. These
reports are our primary method of communicating with parents.
You can also call or email your child's teachers at any time to
receive an update.

How do I know if my child has completed his/her homework?

If your child frequently says his/her homework is completed, but
the progress report indicates otherwise, then you may want to
require that your child uses his/her agenda. Every student
receives an agenda at the beginning of the year and the homework
assignments are listed in every classroom. You can require your
child to write their assignments in their agenda each day and
bring home all the work - completed or not. Then you can check
the completed assignments against the agenda. If completing
homework is a more persistent problem for your child, you may
want to institute a reward system. For example, your child can
play the computer for a half hour after all their homework has
been completed and checked off by you.

Are students able to correct assignments for a better grade?

Yes, almost all English assignments with a grade below 100% may
be corrected and turned in to be regraded. The highest grade
given on corrections is a 99%. Tests may be retaken, but first a
student must work with me to correct the original test.
