This year 4-305 will have a class bank. Each student has a bank account. Deposits and are made each Friday. Mrs. Ottavino is the president of the bank and several students will be bank tellers. The class bank will help apply mathematics learning to real world situations as well as serve as a responsibility management system. 

Students can earn money by being responsible with paperwork and homework. Parent signatures brought back in a timely manner generate earnings. Consistently handing in homework on time also adds money to their accounts. Brain Buster work can also add to earnings

Compliments to our class from other teachers add earnings to every student's account.

Students are fined for not adhering to our class agreements and talking in the stairways.

I am hoping to expand the banking idea as the year progresses. In the Spring, students will pay rent for their desks and chairs and they will earn money for completing classroom jobs. They may even pay taxes on tax day, April 15th. Since this is the first year , the bank  program will slowing grow. I think it is a fun and exciting way to learn math and a great incentive for being a responsible student!
