Thanks for visiting the CVMS Special Education Dept. Page

As team leader I have many responsibilities. I get important information out
to the other members of my department as needed and I am responsible for
coordinating meetings of the Collaborative Assistance Team (CAT). The team
meets every other week, at the meeting we discuss the progress of students
that are struggling academically and make recommendations to teachers about
strategies they may try in their classes to help improve student performance.
If you have specific concerns regarding your child I would suggest that you
schedule a team meeting to discuss your concerns with their teachers.

Always at the top of my game

I take my role as team leader very seriously. I believe that all children
have the potential to learn and encourage parental support at all grade
levels. Middle school can be very challenging for students, parents and
teachers and we must all work as a collaborative team to help our students
achieve success. When working with struggling students it is important to
have a thorough picture of the child academically, socially and emotionally.
Many times things happen that can affect a child's performance in school.
When children are struggling with academics it is my job to do whatever I can
to find out what has happened and develop a plan of action that is best suited
to the individual student. I hold high expectations for all of the children
that I work with and encourage them to always give 100%!!
