Starting in third grade every student learns to type by using a typing instruction program for ten
minutes every class. When the typing session is over we go onto other assignments such as:
A lesson I have put together highlighting a subject area the class is studying, an assignment from the
classroom teacher, or a collaboration project with the school librarian.
Internet Safety Curriculum with i-SAFE American, Inc.
The sixth and fourth grade classes have covered the i-SAFE Internet Safety curriculum with me. i-SAFE
America, Inc. is a nationally recognized Internet Safety program for schools, the community and law
enforcement establishments. This program is the only one of its kind that has an all inclusive
curriculum for schools. The program is quite in depth with many modules, and covers topics such as:
Cyber Community Citizenship, Personal Safety, Cyber Security, Intellectual Property, Bullying, and for
grades four and up a personal safety unit on Predator identification.
The sixth grade is responsible for producing a multi-media final project and their own yearbook.
