Dear Parents and Guardians:
The homework assignment procedure is a daily practice in Sixth Grade.
At the end of the day students are asked to take out their binders.
Homework assignments are carefully given and students immediately write
them down in their daily agendas. They are shown what books, dittoes, and supplies
are necessary for the successful completion of their assignments. They are
given time to start their homework, either individually or with a
partner, while I make myself available to answer any questions that
arise. Further, they have chosen "Homework Buddies" that they can call if any other
questions occur that they cannot answer themselves.
"Homework Buddies" are defined as follows:
* They help explain assignments to the best of their ability
* They do not do their buddy's work for them
* Phone calls between buddies should be limited to 2 -3 minutes
* Homework calls are not social calls
* If a buddy is too busy to assist you, then a secondary buddy can be called
* No phone calls should take place after 8:00 PM
* Homework assignments should not be faxed to students who left their work in
school
I hope this information is helpful.
Thank you,
DM Swartz
