5/4  How creative can you be with just one meter?  Bring in one meter of
string, yarn or ribbon to find out !


5/8  Go on a “News Hunt” with this week’s issue of the NYT and the attached
worksheet.


5/11 Bring to school all information, books, maps etc. that you have gathered
so far for your Canadian Province/ Latin American country report.


5/18 Keep Note of What You’ve Learned!  Attached is a worksheet for you to use
while you learn about the “Hopes for Peace and Prosperity” in our country from
1905-1954.  You will be using the completed worksheet to create a history book
during Writer’s Workshop.


5/22  If I had my own apartment.........  Pretend you do!  Design an apartment
using these guidelines:
    
     * Your apartment must have an area of 1,000 square feet or less.
     * You must have one bedroom but no more than three.
     * You must have a kitchen, a bathroom, and a living room.

Draw your apartment using the grid paper attached.  Each square represents 25
square feet.



5/24  Respond to the “ Quote of the Month”    All presidents and leaders have
advisors.  Ordinary people need advisors, too.  Whose brain would you most
like to borrow and why?  What are your strongest qualities?  How could you use
these qualities to advise someone else?
