News Flash

The second quarter grades have been posted; it is possible that your child's grade might change slightly as overdue assignments are handed in. However, for the most part this is the grade that will appear on the report card.

We will begin coordinate graphing this week, and continue this into next week. If you take the time to look are your child's notebook, you will see that we really haven't left geometry or algebra at all. We are just adding new ideas
to the work that we already have studied.

Your child's grade in math will consist of the four quarterly averages, a midterm exam, and final exam; that's a total of six grades that make up your child's final average. I base the quarterly grades on a weighted total points
system, where homework is approximately one-third and tests and quizzes  make up the other two-thirds of the average.  Every assignment that I grade, this includes tests, quizzes, and homework, is worth a certain number of points. I compare the number of points you earn with the total number of points possible
and calculate the percent.

I hope you are all able to navigate the newest link that I have added to the website, the Circle Free Status link. Circle Free is a status we give students that have completed all of their assignments during the week and have not been involved in any violations of our student conduct policy. Students have until the last day of the week to get assignments handed in, if at the end of the week students owe work they will not be granted the status of Circle Free. Over the weekend I compile the list and post it on this link. I have just updated the Circle Free list, so it is current as of Sunday, October 25. To find out if your child owes any assignments simply click on the link and enter your child's Student ID.
