SBH Data Definitions

Data:  is uninteruupted observations or facts

Information: is data transformed through analysis and interpretation into a form useful for decsion-making (data means nothing

We need data to document that we are in compliance with regulations.

We need to "drill down" into the dat to see what it is telling us; then we need to decide what to do with the data.

We gather data from Sparcs/Hanys on infection rates

CHF rate

NYPORTS sentinal events

Rank the data in bar graph in order of frequency, a Pareto Chart, to help decide which issues out of many you should focus on,

     as part of Performance Improvement.
