I was born in the Bronx. My parents, sister, brother, and I moved to
Yorktown Heights when I was five. Later, we moved up to Millbrook where I
was a student at Millbrook High School. I've traveled a lot, but the Hudson
River Valley is the place I love the most.
Because I really love New York, I especially enjoy teaching the fourth
grade. It's during the fourth grade that students first begin learning about
the local geography and history of New York State. As teacher, I want to
impart my love of learning as well as a love of place to my students. It is
a joy to do so.
I earned my bachelor's degree in education and my master's at SUNY New
Paltz, and have a NYS Teacher's Permanant Certificate, N-6. Prior to coming
here, I taught at Cardinal Hayes School in Amenia, and worked as an elementary
substitute teacher.
I live outside Pine Plains with my son, Nick. I can see the Catskills from
my backyard and it's a short drive to the Hudson River. I
love gardening, music, travelling, reading, and spending time with my family
and friends. This is my twenty-second year working at Saint Joseph's School, a
friendly and dedicated school.
To learn in a safe environment, develop a love of learning,
spark curiosity, and create opportunities for children to
explore and develop academic interests.
To teach responsibility and independence.
"To form our conscience according to the teachings of Jesus."
(Fourth grade religious objective, and I agree!)
Onward and upward!
