I went to elementary school at St. Lawrence, I appreciate the values
instilled in me through my education and am looking forward to passing those
same St. Lawrence values on to my pre-K students. I am a life time
parishoner who regularly volunteers at numerous parish activities, including
assisting with the craft sale and teaching religious education after
school.
Prior to deciding to go back to school for early childhood education I
received a Master's Degree in Health Services Administration and worked in
the field of Human Resources in Buffalo, NY for approximately five years.
Shortly after returning to my hometown of Rochester, NY I started working
part time at a child care center primarily in their preschool and pre-
kindergarten programs. I so enjoyed working with the children there that I
decided to make a career change to education.
I received my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Nazareth
College in 2010. I have continued to work part time at the child care center
along with substitute teaching last year in both the Rochester City and
Spencerport school districts. I also had a long term subtitute position at
St. Lawrence School in the spring of 2011. In the spring of 2011, in
addition to substitute teaching I also tutored an eighth grade student
through the Greece school district.
My interests/hobbies include dancing, bike riding, hiking, camping and
reading. I have been swing dancing since 2009 and have enjoyed learning
various other dancing styles as well. I enjoy reading many genres, my
favorite author though is Jane Austen.
I am looking forward to working with the families at St. Lawrence this year!
The preschool classes will be loving, caring and wonderful places to grow
both academically and spiritually.
