Important dates

 High School is quickly approaching!  Every Thursday afternoon through 
November will be dedictaed to a high school guidance period. Please keep in 
mind the following important dates:

Catholic Schools: (2009-2010 school year)
*TACHS (Test for Admission into Catholic High School) . . . Sat., Nov. 14
       
Applications for the following schools are due to me on Thursday, Oct. 1st!
*Regis High School for Boys . . . Admissions Test . . . Sat., Nov. 7th  
*Marymount High School for Girls . . . Admissions Test . . . Sat., Oct. 17th
*Sacred Heart High School for Girls . . . Admissions Test . . Sat., Oct. 31st

*Loyola has a separate admissions process and application.  Please get 
paperwork to me by . . . . . first week of November 

*Xavier High School's application for admission is due to me on Thurs., 
Oct. 22nd!
Xavier is also instituting a separate scholarship test this year, which will 
take place on Sat., Nov. 21st  (You may send in the registration form and fee 
independently.)

*Xaverian High School Scholarship Test . . . Sat., Dec. 5th
  Applications and letters of recommendation are due on Thurs., Oct. 29th!
  Auditions for the music program are required.  Please call the school.

*St. Joseph Hill Scholarship Test . . . Dec. ___



Public Schools: (2009-2010 school year)
*SHSAT (Specialized High School Admissions Test) . . . Sat. Nov. 7th 
(Sat., Nov. 8th for those boys taking the Regis Admission Test)
     
*Paper Applications for General Public High Schools are due to me on 
Thursday, Oct. 29th! 
   
*Public High Schools requiring an audition for art, dance, drama, or music 
have various dates and deadlines.  Refer to the handouts.  Bard H.S. of Math 
and Science requires you to register for the exam online.



Private Schools: 
*ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) . . . Sat. Dec. 
You need to apply to private schools independently.  Please be aware of 
dates and deadlines.  Poly Prep forms are to me on Thurs., Nov. 5th! 

Scholarships:
It is your responsibility to apply for any scholarships, if you are 
interested.  Please be aware that high schools sometimes give out 
scholarships based on the TACHS scores, and some schools give 
their own scholarship examinations.  You need to attend the open-houses and 
ask about the different scholarship procedures.


Confirmation:
A tentative date is set for Friday, May 7th @ 4PM!

State Tests:
Eighth Grade:  ELA . . . April 26th and 27th
               Math . . . May 5th and 6th
               Science . . . written test ... June 7th
               Social Studies . . . June 14th and 15th
Sixth Grade ELA . . . April 26th, 27th and 28th

Graduation:
Our graduation mass, brunch and ceremony will take place on Fri., June 11th!
A graduation fee will be collected from each student in May.
Graduation pictures will be taken in January.
Our class trip will take place some time in May for those students who have 
not accumulated more than 13 behavior reflection logs throughout the school 
year.
