V Steuben County Player of the Week February 13th
– February 16th, 2012 Sadie Button – Senior guard
from Jasper-Troupsburg Sadie
is averaging 10.4 pts per game, 5.6 rebounds and 2.4 steals for the
season. She was instrumental in leading
her team to the Steuben County Tournament title. February 6th –
February 12th, 2012 Brooke Collins – Junior
forward from Addison Brooke
has led Addison to the county finals. She has posted two double-doubles (14 pts
& 11 rebounds and 16 pts & 10 rebounds) in the quarters and semis. She has been the leader (offensively and
defensively) of a 11-4 team who as a team is having one of the best years in
recent memory. January
30th – February 5th, 2012 Shirlyn Popaski – Senior
guard from Campbell Savona Game
against Prattsbugh 15 points 15 rebounds 2 steals. She has had a solid all
around performance in this game coming off a two day illness, playing against a
taller front line from Prattsbugh. She not only lead both teams in points and
rebounding but put a lot of pressure on guard or forward depending on who she was put up against
defensively. January 23rd –
January 29th, 2012 Alison Cornish – Junior
forward from Avoca She had 18 points in a win
over Prattsburgh on Wednesday, 22 points in a win over Andover, season
averaging 12 ppg. When Ali goes to the
basket hard and gets out on the break, we have a tendency to be able to score
points as a team and do well. January 16nd –
January 22nd, 2012 Kim Symonds - Junior
forward from Jasper-Troupsburg She
scored 15 points in win over Addison January 9nd –
January 15th, 2012 Elizabeth Kolodziejczak -
Senior Forward from
Hammondsport She
averages 12 points a game and 9 rebounds a game. She currently leads the team in points and
rebounds. She is a hard worker and a
go-to player. January 2nd –
January 8th, 2012 Sadie Button – Senior
guard from Jasper-Troupsburg Sadie is averaging 13 points,
5 rebounds and 5 steals per game and is a big reason why team is 9 - 0. December 26th
– January 1st, 2012 Shana Egresi – Freshman
guard from Prattsburgh scored
nine and 11 points, respectively, as the Vikings defeated Naples and Arkport to
win the Prattsburgh Christmas Tournament. In the championship round against
Arkport, she held the Blue Jays' top offensive threat to six points through
three quarters in helping her team build a 17-point advantage. Also in that
win, she scored all 11 of her points in the second half and recorded four
assists. December 19th
– December 25th, 2011 Shirlyn Popaski – Senior
guard from Campbell-Savona has
scored 29 points ,26 rebounds ,4 assists
,5 steals in this week’s games against
Arkport and O-M .She has been the one constant on a team made up of mostly first
year freshman. She has tried to lead by example while trying to keep the rest
of the team positive and moving in the right direction. December 12th
– December 18th, 2011 Rachael
Sutryk – Freshman guard from Addison Freshman point guard lead the
Addison Lady Knights to a record of 2-0 for the week while leading her team in
scoring both games 15 pts and averaged 3.5 rebs, 2 steals a game. December 5th –
December 11th, 2011 Hali
Ordway – Sophomore guard from Canisteo-Greenwood Hali
scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assist in game against Wayland-Cohocton November 28th –
December 4th, 2011 Nikki Wise – Senior Forward from
Prattsburgh Capped off a three-game week
with 13 and 14 point performances in the Bath-Haverling Lady Rams Round ball
Classic, keying the Vikings to victory in the consolation round. That two-game
point total accounted for nearly 40 percent of her team's offense. In addition
to netting 14 in the third-place game, she pulled down 12 rebounds, blocked
four shots and recorded three steals to earn all-tournament honors. November 21st –
November 27th, 2011 Amber Edwards – Freshman
