What is the best way to reach you?

E-mail, e-mail, e-mail is the best. I check it throughout the
day. I have found phone messages to be unreliable and I usually
don't check the messages until the end of the day.

Yes. Each family is responsible for sending their child to
school with a

How much homework will my child be getting?

The first few weeks the homework will be minimal. At the most
your child will have 20 minutes of reading each night, Fundations,
math, and sometimes something a little extra. It is to foster
independence, reinforce skills and at times to spark classroom
conversations for the following day. Homework is not to be overly
stressful and if you ever encounter a problem contact me and
we'll work something out!

When is the homework due?

Your child will receive a Homework Packet on Mondays. All work
remains home until Friday and then your child will bring in the
packet stapled together. However, PLEASE check their folders
daily for any important notes or notices that are coming home.

What if my child wants to celebrate his or her birthday?

That's great! Just let me know ahead of time. Birthday treats
are dropped off in the morning to the front desk and eaten at
snack time.

When and what is Star of the Week?

Star of the Week is done of Monday afternoons at 2:20. Parents
are invited to share in the celebration, but it is fine if you
cannot. Many parents have chosen to bring in a small treat,
their child's favorite book to read or a special guest such as a
grandparent, brother, sister, aunt, uncle,
ect
For your childs Star Of the Week I ask that your child write,
(with your
assistance) a very basic autobiography. This can be either typed
or
handwritten. The autobiography should include information such
as,(but not limited to):
Name, birthday, where they were born, what time, siblings, likes,
dislikes, favorite food, favorite activity, favorite book,
favorite place to go, etc. Your child is also responsible to make
a poster that will be hung in our classroom. It should include
anything that they would like to share about themselves. Both
the autobiography and the poster will remain up all week sparking
social and emotional connections within our classroom community.
