Special note to parents: Students' independent reading project grades went
home this week. I am requesting that everyone has their grade signed. It
should be written in your child's planner, or there is a rubric that went home
with the grade.
Also, we will be taking 5 question reading quizzes frequently while reading
Bearstone.
What to expect during our Bearstone Unit...
- you should have the book with you every day
- you should have your Literary Element Dictionary every day (similes,
metaphors, personification, setting, characterization, etc.) Leave it neatly
on the shelf in the classroom so you are always prepared.
- after most readings there will be a reading quiz
- vocabulary: we will copy the definitions during class, for HW you will copy
the sentence the word appears in from the text
-about 20 pages per reading assignment on most nights
- if there is no study guide, you should take notes.
