June 4, 2010 Howell Road PBIS Website
The Howell Road PBIS Website is part of a school-wide, evidence-based, program that improves school systems and student functioning. The basis of PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) is to follow a logical problem-solving model using data to drive decisions, including a wide range of viewpoints and input, yet always using those approaches that have been tested and shown to be effective at improving school climate, reducing problem behaviors and improving positive behaviors.
The PBIS team has been meeting for 7 years to improve positive expectations and behaviors school-wide.
We have incorporated the ideas and talents of classroom teachers, parents, students, various special area and non-teaching staff members, administrators and representatives from other interested parties, representing State Education, Board of Cooperative Education Services, and University based researchers and Parent Advocacy.
We welcome all input. If you are interested in learning more, please contact the PBIS team (Mr. Huplosky, Dr. Weisz, Mr. Olsen or Ms. Barnick (PBIS Website Designers).
