The Course:
The content of Grade 7 Social Studies is a chronological study of New York State History and US History. The course is divided up into seven units that trace the American experience from pre-Columbian civilization through the American Civil War. The course ties together social, political, economic and geographical trends in US History & New York State History.
 
Grade 7 Social Studies will cover the following topics:

Pre-Columbian Civilization in North America, South America and New York State
 
Unit 2
European Exploration & the Colonization of the Americas
 
Unit 3
Causes of the American Revolution & Revolutionary War
 
Unit 4
US Constitution & Government
 
Unit 5
The New Nation (George Washington - Andrew Jackson)

Sectionalism & the causes of the American Civil War
