Independent Reading Question 2 (Top Thread) due tonight by 9 p.m.
Wednesday: Read up to p. 16 from A Christmas Carol. Stop at end of first
paragraph. Take notes. Write three questions about anything that was confusing
or you didn't understand. Complete vocab.
Thursday: Finish Stave 1. Take notes. Write three questions.
Friday: Read Stave 2. Respond to Stave 2 Questions.
WEEK OF NOV. 24, 2008
Monday & Tuesday: Write final draft of essay. Essay due Monday Dec. 1. Hand in
final copy, rough draft, and rubric.
WEEK OF NOV. 17, 2008
Monday: Bring Bearstone to class tomorrow.
Tuesday: Choose item and write about why it's most important, describe it and
what it symbolizes to
you.
Wednesday: Revise Intro of expository essay
Thursday:Revise Body 1 of expository essay
Friday: Revise Body 2 of expository essay. Write conclusion paragraph
following directions on
handout. Bring all 4 paragraphs to class on Monday.
WEEK OF NOV. 10, 2008
MONDAY: Bring Independent Reading Book by Friday. Begin studying for Bearstone
test, which will be next Monday 11/17. Bring novel to class on Wednesday,
Thursday, and Friday for review.
Wednesday: Complete Taxonomy that you started in class.
Thursday: Have blog permission slip signed.
Friday: Study for Monday's test on Bearstone.
Also, post to ELA blog the title, author, and genre of the independent reading
book you have chosen
to read for Second Quarter and why you chose it. If your parents have opted
to not have you be a
part of the blog, please write it out and bring it in on Monday.
