The goal of the SLT is to develop activities or programs that will support
and enhance the educational experience of Vassar Road students. The School Leadership Team (S.L.T.)
at Vassar Road School is comprised of 14 individuals. There are 5 teachers, 1 teaching assistant, 7
parents, and the building principal on the 2009-2010 S.L.T. The S.L.T. is mandated by New York State
educationl law and it relies on the concept of consensus-building for determining, approving, and
evaluating the success of its yearly projects.
The S.L.T. has approved four projects for this school year.
They are:
Character Education (Virtues, Vassar Road STARS, Anti-Bullying),
Leopard Spot Book Swap,
Wee Deliver
, and the Go Green Initiative
. Both the "Go Green Initiative" and the "Anti-Bullying Program"
are new projects.
