You have been asked to participate in a book talk/discussion
night at Renaissance House/Stepping Stones that is going to
focus on the concept of change and The Freedom Writers Diary.
Students from several schools in the area have been asked to
present on various topics related to the issues the young people
at RH/SS are dealing with and attempting to overcome. Your
school's topic is the factors that contribute to and/or detract from
one's ability to change. In particular, you will have five groups
that research and present on the following concepts related to
factors which contribute to or detract from one's ability to change.
Group #1: belief and value systems.
Group #2: culture and geographic location
Group #3: power
Group #4: teen issues
Group #5: choices/decision-making
After reading The Freedom Writers Diary and researching your
group's concept as it relates to change, you will prepare a
10-minute presentation for the discussion night.
