Who am I and What Do I Teach?
Hi everyone! I am Mrs. Colsey. I teach English as a Second Language.
Where I Work:
I work at Crompond and at French Hill. I have been working in the district
since 2000 and I absolutely love it!
Where I Lived:
I moved around the country a lot when I was in school. I lived in many
different states. The farthest place I ever lived is Hillsboro, Oregon.
Where I Went to School:
I graduated from Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. with a B.S. in
teaching and a minor in psychology and dance.
I got my first master's degree in counseling at the University of Bridgeport
in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
I got my next master's degree in ESL from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
My Life as a Mom:
I have lived in Yorktown for many years. I raised my three children here. All
three of my children are grown now and they are all teachers. My son, Roy,
teaches in Chappaqua, my daughter, Kristi, teaches in Katonah, and my
daughter, Kari, teaches at Mildred Strang Middle School. I have 4
grandchildren.
What I like to do:
I like to read, go to the movies, take care of my grandchildren and have fun.
You might see me walking in FDR Park, watching the kids on the rides at the
Firemen's Carnival, or shopping at T.J. Maxx!
Where am I?
My classroom is located on the lower level in room 14A, right next to Mr.
Ellis's classroom. Stop by and say hello!
My mission is to work with ELL students in reading and writing and help them
develop the vocabulary and background knowledge they need to be the best
students that they can be!
