I have been teaching art at Crompond for the past ten years. This year,
2009-2010, will be my
eleventh year at Crompond School. I have always known that I wanted to teach art. I
went to SUNY New Paltz
for my undergradute degree in Art Education and Painting and received my
Masters in Art Education
from Teachers College, Columbia University. Aside from teaching, I also LOVE
to paint. This summer I went to Hampton Bays a lot with my husband, took a course,
and worked on drawings for our home.
I love oil paints and watercolors. In
addition to painting, I enjoy
drawing, ceramics, and sculpture. I love creating and researching new
projects for my students to
try. I also love going to museums and galleries, and sharing my findings with
my students. I also like
when students share their art and ideas with me.

I believe that all students have the ability to use art materials in
order to express themselves. Art
also helps to teach us about history and life. Therefore, art is for everyone
and art is everywhere!
I encourage all of my students to try their personal best on every
assignment. Students should feel
comfortable with their own artistic expression. Likewise, students will learn
to discuss their own
artwork as well as their classmates'. Although it might happen differently
for each class, my goal is
for students to make discoveries, inspire one another, and learn from their
own art as well as each
others'.
