Hello! It is with enthusiasm that I begin as principal of Crompond Elementary
School. I began my career in education 20 years ago as an elementary special
education teacher at Mt. Pleasant Blythedale School in Valhalla, NY. I taught
for 14 years, served as Coordinator of Student Services and Chairperson for
the Committee on Special Education. In 2002, I was honored to be hired as
principal of Mt. Pleasant Blythedale. In this capacity, I had numerous
opportunities to facilitate, grow and reflect as an instructional leader. I
believe in the power of collaboration and communication to meet the needs of
the students, parents, and teachers. Although it was a difficult decision to
leave my previous school, I am excited about the opportunity to be part of the
YCSD which recognizes the value and importance of family-school-community
partnerships in educating all students.
As a resident of Yorktown, my two children have recently been students at
Crompond Elementary School. My family values the education they recieved, both
academically and socially. I am proud to be part of a school whose motto is
"Home of the Mind and the Heart." I look forward to leading this school
community!
