What is the correct way to save my files?
You can choose the my document's folder(make sure your logged on
as you)
That way,
you can access your documents anywhere in the
district, and they will be backed up incase of a failure. Also
When logged
on as your name, go to save, hit the drop down arrow next to the
words "my documents", scroll and select your name (ex
abulson) click on it
and save there.
Why can't I see my drive(ex.abulson) ?
In our school, we use what is called a script, it is the first
thing that
loads when you log in. It is usually a little box on the bottom
of your
screen, if that does not load fully, or you close it out, it will
not finish
running and will not tell the computer who you really are.
Therefore,
always
let it run and try not to click until it closes out.
Also sometimes you may loose your nextwork connection, so try
logging off
and loggin back in
What are my options when saving?
1. You can save to your named drive and My documents, where you
can access
it everywhere in
the district.
2. You can save to a floppy disk, by saving to the A:\ drive.
3. You can save to a flash drive, also called a memory stick,
they are more
popular now then floppy and they hold more space too!
4. Also, if your computer has a burner, you can save to a cd.
Why can't I log in?
Make sure it says, YHS under the password text box, sometimes the
computer switches to a different way of logginging in, known as
local, what
you want is the Domain, YHS, so you can access all your settings.
Sometimes
you may have lost your network connection, then you want to give
me a call ;-
)
What do I do if something in my room is broken?
Log into School Dude, using the icon on your desktop or the link
on our district page under staff options.
What is Ram?
Ram is memory for your computer, it helps it to run faster.
What is a Hard Drive?
A Hard Drive is a square shaped object, used to hold all of your
information
that you save.
Why do I have the internet, but no page shows up when i go into it?
The page that first shows up, in internet explorer, is called
your home
page. That is the page that will always show up when you log in,
you can
also access it if you hit the little home button on top.
Sometimes that
page can disapper, or you can change it to a page that no longer
exists,
therefore no page will show up. You can still access any of the
pages you'd
like, its just that one website that is not working.
