Ellen Weiner has been teaching at Crompond since 1995. Before coming to
Crompond, she received her undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Mount
Holyoke College. Ellen Weiner remained at Mount Holyoke College to complete
her Master of Arts in Teaching, and was inducted into Phi Delta Kappa.
Raised in Yorktown Heights, Ellen Weiner currently lives in Yorktown with her
husband, Robert and their three children: nine-year-old Emma, eight-year-old
Rachel, and two-year-old Joshua. Ellen Weiner and her husband moved to
Yorktown so their family could live, work, and attend school in a community
that is near and dear to their hearts.
Mrs. Weiner believes it is important to address the whole learner. All
children should believe that they can and will learn through active
participation in school activities. Children learn in different ways and
lessons are designed to develop the strengths of the learners as they progress
through the curriculum. Ellen Weiner is committed to educating the whole
child: cognitive skills and character education. Most importantly, Mrs.
Weiner believes in a strong home-school connection where all students, parents
and staff are a valued part of our learning community.
