About The Teacher

Welcome to Team R! I am thrilled to be the team's math teacher, and am
looking forward to working with all of you.

I graduated from St. John's University with a BS in Education. I received
my certification to teach N – 6 with a 7 – 9 math extension. After
graduating, I went to work in “corporate America”. I worked for almost 25
years before retiring in November of 2003.

I have two cats, Chappy and Mittens. Chappy is named after one of my
favorite vacation spots, Chappaquiddick Island, part of Martha's Vineyard.
Mittens is actually Mittens II - he's named after the cat I had while growing
up.

I am an avid hockey fan and enjoy watching my younger son play hockey for a
DIII college in Massachusetts. My older son is once again lacing
up his skates to play. Both my sons are defensemen. I'm very fortunate to
have my daughter back at home - she is my best friend! When I'm not in the
rink, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, traveling, and doing
counted cross stitch. My favorite spot is the beach - whether it be Martha's
Vineyard or along the coast of Maine. I have also had the opportunity to
drive across this beautiful country we call home, and I would do it again in
a heartbeat. I recently returned from Alaska, "the last frontier"! It was
an unforgetable trip for me! I actually saw Mount Denali (Mount McKinley),
which only 20% of the people who visit Alaska can claim they see! It was
breathtaking.

I am currently studying for master's degree and attend Mercy College.

Mission For The Class

Mission for the Class

My goals for the class:
 - Students will be successful in their math education, learning in an
environment that encourages them to ask questions, challenge themselves and
other students, and work to the best of their abilities.
 - Students will come away with an appreciation of math and understand its
meaning in every day life.
 - Students will be encouraged to have fun while learning.
