Dear Parents, 

          We would like to welcome you and your child to second 
grade!  Here is a list of supplies that all the second graders will 
be using.  Additional supplies may be requested by your child�s 
teacher at the beginning of the school year.  

1 marble composition book 
2 one subject spiral notebooks (100 sheets, wide ruled, without tear-
off pages) 
1 small spiral memo pad 
5 heavyweight two-pocket folders (with pockets on the bottom)
3 packages of 3� x 3� post-it notes 
1 extra large rectangular box of tissues to share
small (approx. 9x5x3) storage box with snap lid 
1 dozen sharpened #2 pencils 
colored pencils (set of 12) 
crayons (box of 24) 
washable markers (thick or thin) 
Sanford Expo dry erase markers (4 pack, fine point) 
2 glue sticks 
children�s pointed scissors 
1 large eraser 
oversized T-shirt (smock for art placed in labeled Ziploc bag) 
large box of wipes 

           Please put your child�s name on all supplies, smock and 
bag, and all outerwear/jackets.  Also, we prefer bookbags with 
shoulder straps as the ones with wheels can be dangerous for young 
children. 

          Mastering basic addition and subtraction facts will be 
vital to your child�s math success in second grade.  Practicing over 
the summer is essential.  Games, flash cards, and computer programs 
can be effective.
